About · Quarter Pole

Built by horsemen.
For horsemen.

Quarter Pole is built by people who lived the problem. Two best friends. One a third-generation horseman running a Pacific Northwest syndicate. The other an operator who knows how to build companies. Both convinced the private market deserved better than the lack of infrastructure available today.

Why we built this

We were the customers first.

The private thoroughbred market still runs on Facebook groups, handshakes, text messages, and a small, closed-off circle of trusted relationships. Year after year the same names trade horses among themselves. The same trust between the same small groups, leaving most of the sport without access to the private purchasing world.

We built Quarter Pole because we were the customers first. Claim To Fame Racing, a syndicate with sixty-plus investors based at Emerald Downs and a second fund recently launched in Seattle, has bought, sold, and managed enough horses to know exactly where the friction lives. Listings get posted in eight different places. Pedigrees get re-keyed by hand. Buyers and sellers find each other through six degrees of trainers. Deals close on a phone call after a week of phone tag.

The sport doesn't need a marketplace that papers over those cracks. It needs infrastructure built on top of what's already true: that racing is small, that trust is the moat, that pedigrees are a fact and not a marketing claim, and that a verified buyer and a verified seller talking directly is the cleanest possible transaction. Quarter Pole is that infrastructure. Equibase pedigrees and race records pulled in automatically. Identity reviewed before access. Direct messaging without phone numbers exposed.

We also built this because the sport needs new entrants. Fractional ownership, built into the marketplace from day one, is the easiest legal path for someone who's never owned a horse to step into the sport without writing a six-figure check. Discovery happens in the app; deals get arranged off-platform. That's it. No commissions on either side.
